If you visit the island of Sri Lanka, you will undoubtedly see an elephant in a temple or a road somewhere along your way. Don’t be alarmed unless you are in the city streets away from such rural areas full of wild animals. The wild elephants on the island are the biggest in Asian elephant species.
Never leave your vehicle and try to run vs. an Elephant-These giants from the wild always migrate from region to region looking for new experiences among the locals. These elephants are familiar with the people around as they are fed and treated with respect based on Sri Lankan cultural values.
This particular case is to show what you should never do when you see an elephant on the road. You will never outrun an elephant no matter what. These two people who came in the bike decided to leave the bike behind and run backward showing their backside to the elephant. This is a big mistake, but luckily the elephant wasn’t in an aggressive mood. They could have easily avoided the elephant by accelerating a little faster as soon as they passed the elephant from the right side.
However, hope you love watching wild elephants roam around freely like this without being harmed. Sri Lankans allow this to happen since elephants are a part of their culture.
