One of the greatest baby elephant rescue operations : Deep in the wild
Sri Lanka is full of beautiful dense rainforests with a lot of rivers and water streams running across the island. The wildlife officers spotted this lost baby elephant calf during a routine check.
One of the greatest baby elephant rescue operations-With many others to help with the rescue mission, they returned to the scene. The location is deep within the forest that is accessible through a very difficult path. Young Asian elephants are well known to be very aggressive in difficult situations and conditions.
As the team of wildlife officers arrived at the scene, they spotted the struggling cute little elephant calf that is desperate to get out. The team immediately started digging the surrounding area to create a slope for its escape.
The reason for this pits existence is unknown. The pit is either a naturally collapsed location or a digging made by hunters. As these hard-working citizens and officers reached a point that this elephant was able to climb up halfway through, the officers took the idea to the next level to use a rope to give this elephant a speed boost out from the pit. It was a successful mission for everyone as the baby elephant was able to get out from the pit unharmed. Isn’t it always funny to see them chasing people away thinking they are giant elephants? We kind of think so. We are glad that this adorable looking elephant is free in the wild again.
