This particular footage is about an elephant that some villagers spotted as it was found with unimaginable pain due to a cable wire trap that has injured its legs.
The wildlife department was quickly contacted by these officers to come and intervene in order to save this elephant from a life-threatening situation. They need to be well fed to maintain their strength to move from area to area as they desire.
The wildlife team arrived at the scene with required medical supplies and ways to sedate this elephant for the treatments it needs to recover quickly. It is again a life-threatening process for these brave officers as well to move closer to a giant like this who can literally end anyone in seconds. Finally, officers were successful in saving this elephant, and it will also take several weeks to recover as those leg wounds will have to heal fully. There are several thousands of elephants in the island of Sri Lanka and the government, together with hardworking and committed department workers, are trying to save every elephant whenever they get a report about a situation. The entire country loves elephants as they are part of their culture and heritage through ancient times.
