Young Tusker is waiting to destroy an electric fence
In the beautiful island of Sri Lanka, Elephants roam the streets and through village areas freely in many regions of the country. The small island nation is full of elephants that are loved by most of the inhabitants of the island. Most educated in the country are continually fighting corruption and animal abuse especially towards the treasures that elephants are to the state as Sri Lankan elephants are known as the largest and the strongest among Asian elephants.
Young Tusker is waiting to destroy an electric fence-However, around farming villages where elephants raid crops, many conflicts are happening that have caused casualties to both sides. They have set a lot of fences and electric fences with barriers around many villages and farmlands around national parks and many massive forest reserves scattered around the country to keep these giants away from confronting villagers that could cause harm and retaliate if they raid crops. This young giant tusker was spotted in a rural area close to Polonnaruwa where it is well known for historical value. These rare tuskers are well protected in the country especially against hunters and rare poachers that have disappeared over the recent past as some good news for all of you.
This giant is waiting and patiently planning an escape from to see what’s out there in the human villages. We can see his enthusiasm to become an adventurous one. However, this healthy and great looking tusker is well monitored by the wildlife department and will not have a chance to leave the massive safe jungle provided for him and the others of his herd.
