This is not about keeping this baby elephant captive, and it’s about keeping them safe and taking care of this baby elephant until it recovers from the current state and its relevant herd is found. These baby elephants cannot rejoin any other herds it is an outsider to.
In Sri Lanka, so many baby elephants get lost like this daily as they get separated from their parents every day. These playful elephants need to be then kept safe from so many predators out there in the jungle, including humans who are on the wrong side.
This was when they contacted the wildlife department to come and help this baby elephant with medical supplies and enough food and milk. They will safely escort this baby elephant back to camp close by where they will protect this baby elephant while they provide all the food and milk it needs to survive and grow.
The island of elephants: Sri Lanka
On the beautiful island of Sri Lanka, Elephants roam the streets and through village areas freely in many regions of the country. The small island nation is full of elephants loved by most of the island’s inhabitants. They tried to drag this elephant out of the muddy pit using their strength, and they couldn’t go far. That is when they contacted a villager with a tractor to help get this elephant out of this challenging situation.
However, around farming villages where elephants raid crops, many conflicts have caused casualties to both sides. They have set a lot of fences and electric fences with barriers around many villages and farmlands around national parks and many massive forest reserves. These elephants often run into traps and wells placed along with farms for water supply.
