A mighty tusker elephant slays a young elephant. The herd mourns after
This is the mating season for elephants, and the heat is rising among them. This tusker is one of the most dangerous and aggressive ones out there by the magnificent Kala Weva; a human-made lake in Sri Lanka. These elephants were having a typical day by the waters to drink and eat as they please through the day.
The tusker decided to move around the herd looking for a mate as the herd leader apart from the matriarch was spotted opposing the tusker. The tension between these two grew a lot for them to confront each other for a duel finally. A fight that puts the young male at a costly disadvantage due to his lack tusks that his enemy possess.
The footage about the fighting is not available due to its scale of violence, so we will have to show the aftermath. It was apparently a battle to subdue and not to kill. This tusker is refusing to leave this elephants body as his tusks pierced through the young male to finally kill. The young elephant was finally seen with over 20 stab marks that are very deep.
The young elephant died on the spot after the vicious attacks from the older and stronger tusker and everyone in the herd came right after including baby elephants to mourn the loss. Elephant herd surrounded the dead body and hoped for a miracle, and that’s what we can think.
