Elephants are strong and giant in size. These giants cannot be handled easily without restricting its movements. One way to stop them is through electric fences set around the forest area. As these elephants engage in crop raiding daily, it is a must to have these fences to save crops and village areas.
Sri Lankan elephants “Elephas maximus Maximus” are well experienced with electric fences and are very cunning around crop raiding matters. Let this video be the perfect example for this case.
This young giant was able to break this fence without touching the cables easily, maybe cause he has experience with it. We can see how careful he is during the process of breaking in. Finally, it walks over the fence without touching any of those cables as well, completely safe out from the sanctuary land area.
